It must have been the look...

In my eyes that spoke to him.

"You look like the type that should be travelling." He said.
"What makes you say that?" I asked, looking up to see the guy at the end of the bar who had spoken.
"You've got the look in your eyes that says you would rather be somewhere else."
"That could be down to the fact I'm working here."
He looked around at the forlorn four walls of the pub and sighed. "Nah, it's more than that, but I see what you mean." He said.

A couple of minutes passed as I served the only other person, with the exception of him and I, in the bar.

"Have you ever seen Nepal?" He enquired.
"Only in pictures or on TV." I replied.
"I've been twice. I found a small farm house at the base of the Himalayas, tiny place, hardly anyone spoke English, no TV, no radio, no cell phones or other distractions, just the mountains stretching as far as you could see. When the sun comes up in the morning the mountains are a shade of pink that you have to see to believe," He stated.

He drained his pint and placed the empty glass on the bar, picked up his small plastic bag full of shopping and began walking towards the exit. As his hand connected with the door handle he turned and looked around the pub.

"Do yourself a favour kid..." He said, turning to leave. "Go and see the Himalayas in the morning sunlight. They're pink."

There are so many places to explore in the world and so little time (and money). Did you visit S.A. yet? I might be going to Qatar at the end of the summer but I am still not sure how much I want to go. I dont like Muslims and its 44 degrees at the moment. Thanks for the tips for the best comedians in town. I will see. Downtown Montreal is crowded at the moment and the humidity factor is peaking. All the best shows are televised and shown later in the year. When I think about it I must be getting older: hate crowds, humidity, standing in line and certain ethnic groups. Its early Sunday morning and I am always in a bad funk on Sunday. Maybe I will just go back to bed and rewrite better stuff later. I will go play with the anagram button till I am more awake...

Hi A 2 Z,
Indeed there is so much to do and so little time. Thinking of this makes the little voice in my head say "Fuck my life" ever louder.

I did visit S.A a couple of years ago and stayed for a month with cuzzin Steve, his good lady and his lovely daughter Tami. The time i spent there was, and forever will be, treasured memories.

I have no idea if Doug Stanhope is playing JFL but if he is do yourself a favour and get yourself a ticket to see him. Not only will he straighten out your third eye but he'll make you laugh like a drain for days on end.
