Take this for a spin...

Whilst popping around the web trying to find all new and cool ways of customising Windows Vista I stumbled across a cool, and very skeezy, tool called 360Desktop. As the title suggests, 360Desktop is a program that enables a 360° panorama on your desktop.

Installation is simple and easy to understand, if it wasn't I wouldn't be writing about it, and the program itself is easy to use. 360 desktop also allows you to throw as many widgets onto your desktop as you like thanks to the easy to use widget creator.

Very useful if you are they type of person who has lots of shortcuts on your desktop or like a constant stream of information via RSS feeds.

Last night...

I was raving on about how impressed I was with the website drop.io and decided that I should spend an hour or two today getting into the thing and seeing what was what.

But as the saying goes, the best laid plans gang aft agley and after less than a minute I was distracted by another site and felt I should let you all know about it. Cooliris is a neat little plugin that allows you to view the media from a site in a nice 3D environment.

Particularly nice for Google Images, Picasa albums and media rich websites, Cooliris and Coolpreviews speeds up your browsing and works with Firefox, I.E, Safari, Bebo, Myspace, Facebook, Youtube and many, many, more.

During the evolution of this blog...

I've used many different sites to host pictures or other media files but I've never found one as good as Drop.io. Drop.io allows you to drag and drop many different format files from web pages or your desktop with ease.

After only five minutes I have found that Drop.io...
  • Allows you to customise your drops look.
  • Allows you to put a button on your blog so people can drop files to your drop.
  • Works with twitter.
  • Allows multiple users to drop files to the same drop.
  • Has RSS feed capabilities.
You can drop by my drop (Did you see what I did there?) and see what's what by clicking here. I know I'll be playing around with it for the next week or so and recommend you do too. This thing could be huge I tells ya, HUGE!

I had to share this...

Because it's possibly the most insane thing I have ever seen.

The guy behind it is named Jean-Yves Blondeau and, as you can tell from his name, he's French. But that doesn't mean we should hate him. Quite the opposite in fact.

Good old Jean-Yves has invented something called Buggy Rollin, a thing that has to be seen to be believed.

I may not know the words being sung...

But the music itself is the thing.

Ladies and Gentlemen, Abdel Hadi Halo and the El Gusto Orchestra of Algiers performing "Win Saadi" (Recorded Live on Jools Holland.)

Ladies and gentlemen...

This is possibly one of the most heartwrenching songs I've ever heard.

I've heard it so many times in my life that I could sing along if it wasn't for the fact that I couldn't carry a tune in a bucket but never realised what it's about. Now that I know it's about child abuse it breaks my heart listening to it. But listen to it I will. And so can you...

Ladies and Gentlemen, Suzanne Vega - Luka (Recorded live at Abbey Road studios).
